-Linear/minimum means if phase is kept in tact (linear) or if filtering is done in minimum phase (or an intermediate). Most people can't hear benign changes in phase, but there are some that can A-B it. It's not something to lose sleep over though.
-That is ridiculous, and those YT people would never be able to prove their claims. The only filter that can "definitely" be audible is a slow/super slow one since it loses some frequency content before 20kHz, so if you are young and still hear very high frequencies, then yes you could hear that.

That's one of my articles. If you want the most accurate sound, choose the filter which is "Fast" or "Sharp" and "Linear" rather than "Minimum" phase. This is normal. I tried a lot of DACs and never heard any difference I could be sure of either. From my understanding it is just a roll of filter in high frequency range that you probably can not hear anyway. However, when testing in games I feel like 6, 7 and sometimes 8 and 9 feel a bit more "airy", I think it's called transparent, not sure.

Perhaps the socket or circuit is faulty and nothing to do with CDs.Had it for a few days, the sound was very very good, on my balanced chain of components, unfortunately does not play CDs!!!!! DOES NOT ACCEPT PCM OUT OF DC PLAYER !!!! What a mistake. Those 8 Crystal dac chips do sound magnificent. Hope Topping will make a revised edition. Mine went back to the seller.

It's a well known glitch. It does not work signal from out coax of a cd player. I was so furious that l did not try the this link out of the cd player !!!! I just sent it back.Does the S/PDIF accept a signal from another device? Perhaps the socket or circuit is faulty and nothing to do with CDs.
