Rythmik L12 Subwoofer Review

I got my L12 at the end of the year after all the backorders were resolved. The power switch was loose - didn't think too much of it. Now I find it is stuck on. Anybody else have this problem? I've reached out to Ascend Acoustics and Rythmik - hopefully they can help as a switch that breaks after being toggled twice (once for the first time and then today) seems like a problem.

I would contact Enrico or Brian directly at Rythmik. I have seven Rythmik subs (some passed to my boys) and haven't had any problems. Sounds like just a bad switch, but annoying. Rythmik has an excellent reputation for customer service and I'm sure they will take care of you.

Appreciate the response! Hopefully they get back soon. Otherwise have been enjoying the L12 for everybody who was helped/convinced in getting this sub by ASR.

Definitely annoying as I'd like to be able to turn the sub back to at least Auto. For now I'm resigned to leaving it on or physically unplugging it. I'm sure we'll figure it out!

Picture attached in case there was any confusion for folks. The switch is completely stuck up and seems to be slightly deviated.

NP. Enrico usually responds to emails very quickly. If you do not hear in a day or two I would try again.

Follow up: Brian responded quickly and thoughtfully, offering multiple solutions. I ended up sending out the old amp and he sent a new one. I can see why its a difficult fix. The switch is embedded with black glue likely as a way to hold it together.

I still have 2 of these. Great value.

How do Rythmik subwoofers compared to SVS or Genelec subwoofers? Do genelecs have tighter and punchier bass or are they all relatively equal?

I never turn mine off anyway. Auto on works just as I want.

IMO Rythmik has better build quality and $/db vs SVS. Genelec subwoofers are much more expensive for the output they could produce and seem more like "ecosystem" purchases meant to give top performance when used with Genelec monitors and their loudspeaker management system.

Tight or punchy bass is a result of good system integration. If a subwoofer is integrated well and room correction is doing its job, it will sound tight and punchy.

I wonder if when rythmik will come back *edit referring to the current out of stock everywhere reportedly due to tariffs. I regret this sounding dramatic.

Ha sorry, referring to availability/stock. Any ideas when things will be leveled enough?
Container is scheduled to depart from China on Monday. We will post prices and ETA for each model around Wednesday next week.

Are the distorted icons not labeled with sound pressure levels? And the waterfall plot looks strange? What's going on with the odd lines in the 50 to 100+ Hz range, and why do they disappear at higher sound pressure levels?

I currently have an SVS PC-2000 Pro in my system that I am listening to in sealed mode and crossed in at 60Hz to my speakers. I am considering possibly replacing it with a Rythmik L12. Would I get an improvement in sound quality? The system is primarily used for musical listening and very little home theater use. Or would the F12-400 be worth the difference/more comparable to the PC-2000 Pro in terms of output capacity? I'm actually not looking for more capacity, and wondering if I can get improvements in other areas like distortion and group delay. Additionally, since I have DIRAC Live, I am thinking that by moving away from a sub with its own DSP (and thereby cutting out an ADC/DAC conversion), I can also get an improvement in sound from that.

I bought an F12SE for a system primarily for music, and some home theater, using Dirac for room correction/speaker EQ in a system with capacity up to 9.1.6. One of the reasons that I purchased it is that there is zero latency, the input stage is analog. Given all the processing going on (Dirac and audio format decoding) I thought that eliminating latency in the sub would be a plus. I have no idea if I'm correct on that, but I'm pleased with the result and it seems logical to eliminate latency (and processing) where not needed. The Rythmik is in my opinion a fine sub. Dirac did a great job setting the level of the sub. The F12 is relatively compact and it runs cool (temperature). The automatic setting from standby to active works perfectly.

I only use mine for the LFE channel. I can't say anything about other applications.

Crossed in at 80Hz and calibrated & corrected with DIRAC (only 12.5-200Hz). It is flat in-room to 12Hz for me. Stunningly clean integration and truly the clearest, lowest distortion sub I’ve ever owned—I waited way too long for this!
