hi, I need a recommendation for an amplifier capable of driving 2 speakers (e.g. Revel Concerta2 M16, KEF LS50 Meta, etc).

Mandatory, minimal requirements:
  1. usb input (nice to have: optical, Toslink but not coaxial)
  2. drive at least 2 speakers
  3. min 100W at 8 ohms
  4. min 120W at 6 ohms
  5. able to work with 4 ohms speakers
  6. features subwoofer out (1x RCA) + LPF control or line-out (2x RCA)
  7. allows for adjusting the HPF for the speakers (very important)
  8. won't use a fixed LPF on the subwoofer out
  9. under 1500$ (ideally under 600$)
  10. Bluetooth, if present, should be possible to be turned off
The best candidate I found is miniDSP SHD Power (it has more than I need but is expensive), have you a better suggestion?

The Wiim Amp is another option but it will not give you that much power
You would be better off with a multichannel DAC (any pro audio models or Topping DM7) and some nice amps like the Topping PA series or Hypex Ncore and do the DSP in your computer
Or get a miniDSP DSP device as mentioned in another thread

I don't understand how the setup would look like and will apply the HPF.

HTPC->Toslink->WiiM Amp.

The WiiM Amp has user configurable HPFed Mains output and LPFed Sub Line out.
The crossover frequency can be controlled via the WiiM App.

You can choose frequencies from 30 to 250Hz.

nice but I'd rather like it to be a USB connection and to have more power.

Other than the SHD Power and WiiM amp, the only other option I know < $1500 is an AVR. I think bass management with hpf and lpf are standard features, but USB DAC is not.

Check out both the Sabaj A30a (less than $500) or its more expensive twin SMSL VMV A2 (tested by Amir ). I have the Sabaj and I'm VERY happy with it.

I like SMSL VMV A2 but is it possible to disable its Bluetooth?

what bothers me though is that none of them state it’s featuring a HPV filter, are you sure e.g. Sabaj A30a is?

You are looking for a lot of features in one box. This would be easier if you considered separates.

Alternatively, get active speakers and a miniDSP Flex?

Yamaha R-N1000A for uper budget limit and even that on discount.
Keap in mind YPAO will cut SINAD down to some 80 dB but you get YPAO volume (automatic equal loudness normalisation) which you won't get from other stereo receivers (you can on Denon AVR's).
It's a expensive for slightly improved R-N803 but I can't help you there.

What's an HPV filter?

The Sabaj A30a has a "true" output for a subwoofer with low pass and high pass filters. The only limitation is that the lowest cut off is at 70 Hz (the range is 70-160 Hz). The Wiim Amp is not in the same class of amplifiers as the Sabaj (less power, likely less linear frequency response and worst SINAD) however it is more flexible concerning the sw output.

the high pass filter to be applied on the speakers (LPF is for subwoofer)
You could just call it having a crossover. I certainly would want the sub pre-out to be included in the unit's bass management, though (you said earlier you wanted a full range sub pre-out and just a hpf, which I don't think you'll find at all.

Preferably Butterwort, especially if you gonna poke with it (applying ISO 226 2003 and such).

The R-N800A suggested to you on Audioholics sounds like it meets your requirements....

I gave up on such solution. I use Yamaha amplifier and only as amplifier and PC for processing (PEQ, FIR and phase correction) with sound card to do my 2.2 stereo. Simply said I use lot of DSP processing and two separate chenel output for sub's is almost not existing.
If you shave off USB input and use Toslink instead old R-N803 (803D) will be quite enough if you can find one new and it will cost you less than half the price of R-N1000A.
