Meanwhile, in Northern New England Starting yesterday, we were beset with haze arising from particulates/smoke from wild fires "out West" (reportedly, those in Oregon & California -- although usually when this happens it is from fires in NW Canada). The effect on our sunset last night, in an otherwise nearly cloudless sky, was rather dramatic.

Wowzah! That's gorgeous. Is all of downtown Amsterdam like this? The architecture is awesome. In Canada where I am we have nothing like this anywhere. Everything is relatively new and a contemporary style.
