As per my other replies, I'm looking for basic 3.5", small footprint speakers / monitors for my PC.

Looking for opinions on the Reloop DSM-3 BT: https://www.reloop.com/reloop-dsm-3-bt Don't care for BT, as long as they're well built and sound good.

Very little info and not many reviews out there, hoping for your input on these! What do you think these would compare to?

Could be utter trash, hence my request.

These retail for ~ $165USD in Australia.

Thanks :)

Hi,

What's your budget ?

I don't think there's any tests or measurements for these (yet), so it's a bit of a gamble.

There are plenty of other small speakers that have been measured here.

(I will give you the peak-asr answer) how about genelec 8010 or Neumann kh80 ?

Pat.

Both suggestions are way beyond my budget unfortunately...

At most I'd consider Yamaha HS3 (~$230USD in Australia) - although from what I've learnt from ASR, even these are average. Not to mention the BX3 analysis

KRK GoAUX 3" or 4" are in the dimensions and the budget you're looking for?

Edifier MR4

Possibly, both are the same price in Au (~$230USD) and the specs look really good, but in terms of aesthetics and materials, I'd rather the Yamaha HS3 for the price.
I've seen some not so complimentary reviews on these too - not in terms of acoustics but quality wise. Not sure, but these are on the shortlist!

I'd take the 305's - they're on sale ATM, but simply have no space for > 4" setup...
I have my desk speakers elevated on VESA mounts that clamp to my desk... good way to get more space where none might otherwise be available.

Problem is that my desk is almost flush to the wall. It's a small room (study) too and the desk is 120x60cm / 47x24".
Even if I wall-mount these, allowing for ports, they'd be protruding by ~30cm / 12" - literally in my face.
Space constraints place me in the < 4" footprint unfortunately.

Only at a couple of retailers and twice as pricey as Yamaha HS3's, which is my upper limit budget-wise.
That is too bad. Here in the US the Kali are competitive and the Yamaha are only 15% cheaper.

Pricing variations between regions can be massive. In Australia, Presonus Eris E3.5 costs more than twice the Edifier MR4, while in the US these are on par price-wise I believe.
Doubt it's the retail markup, more like distributor's margins I think?

I could be wrong, but my perception of Edifiers is that they're too cheap - if they're retailing MR4's for $75USD (as low as $55USD in Asia), each set must cost $20 to manufacture and package...

iLoud MTM available in your area at your budget?

Dang, must be rough being an audio enthusiast on a budget over there.

Just based on the review of the MR4 versus the HS5, I'd say the MR4 is your best bet.
