Mission 778x, Marantz Pm6007, Yamaha a-s301 or a-s501 and pairing

Meanwhile Yamahas where tested hire on low load's and passed the tests without any problems.
Yeah, I think all of those barring the Mission are likely capable. Any amp that doesn't list spec for 4 ohms is largely not much good for the vast majority of speakers. I wish manufacturers would be more realistic in their ohm ratings on the speaker side really. Although to be fair some do list minimum impedance these days, but many see 8 ohms and assume all is good, even though a large chunk of the frequency spectrum, and usually in the bass area where demand on amplifier is the highest can be far lower. Personally I take a speaker and judge amplifier required on the minimum impedance value, that way there's no worry regarding amplifiers ability to keep up.

Those Yamaha's are certainly impressive and a good value, that's for sure. Only reason I'd likely choose the Wiim in that scenario if it was me is because the DAC and PEQ, although if I already had or didn't need it would likely swing me towards the Yammy.

@Ze Frog not so long ago we had a case where speakers where as declared 8 ohms where the case in upper mids and highs and owner whose worried about its class D Fosis (in bridged mode). Turned out to be as described by owner around 35~40 W from 5 KHz up but I don't think that whosent enough. Yamahas are 100+ W (at 8 ohms, almost 140 on long run sustainable but with substantial THD increase) all around it differs only how much which model can give clean and pass the dependency load ( frequency) test very good even at 20 KHz (usually done only to 15). Wimp (WiiM APM) is still just that, eventually upcoming model will do a lot better in mentioned test as it will have voltage pump. Just saying it's nice to have headroom even if you don't really need it as (soft) clipping is audible and bad for AMP-s health on the long run. It's not that Yamahas are super strong, 100W should be a standard this days. Of course it's good to get mains of and AMP running them form subwoofers range (with high pass) and let subs handle those. Also in my opinion WiiM might be enough only for a basic correction (still most importan or the room mode and it's two harmonic) on basic setup (no subs) and that won't change much even with updates. You need multichannel and as free hand's as you can handle to do it all or at least most part.
Have a nice time and enjoy!
