Meyer sound is worldwide leader of concert and big venue... You surely listen some Meyer sound speaker around

Typical "fleece-the-pro-market-with-unlimited-funds" decision. I still remember their HD-1 from over 20 years ago. The price was so high, I never got past looking at the brochure. And they still can't produce symmetrical L/R speakers like Neumann, saving on production costs, so - $8000 to look at two identical speakers with the logo on the same left side? No, thank you. There are far better options.

Pros will pay extra for reliability and service. And dont care if the logos are on the same side. If your $200/hr 10hr/day recording room is down for 5 days your out more than that pair of speakers, probably lost a client as well. One of the studios I worked at had 10 edit suites with HD-1s and 5 mix/record rooms with larger Meyers. In the 20 years I worked there not one of these 30 speakers, used 10hrs a day 5 days a week ever had a problem.
And the $8000 price of a pair of HD-1s included an EQ for the room and a visit from a Meyer tech to set up and calibrate the speakers. Do you get that with a pair of KH150s?
There volume is also much much smaller than JBL, Kef and even Genelec.

I don't have the time or patience for cheap unreliable gear. Or brands that do not offer proper or convenient service.

I'm always staggered how cheap many of the studios got when you think about what the costs are to run and build them.

One of the studios I worked at had 10 edit suites with HD-1s and 5 mix/record rooms with larger Meyers. In the 20 years I worked there not one of these 30 speakers, used 10hrs a day 5 days a week ever had a problem.

That's impressive - current Neumanns ... don't think they can do that. But you can easy buy a bunch of spare speakers for the price. I mean, you could have the complete setup on spare and still save money ...

More or less - yes. You have to put the speaker on place yourself but MA1 does a great job on calibration. Does a proper woofer setup if needed, you can dial in a room curve etc. And it takes 10-15minutes when you have done it once and understood the process.

Trinnov Nova

Room‑correction pioneers Trinnov were already a step ahead of the competition. Now they’ve taken things further.

You can see how good the MA1 is compared to the Trinnov Nova which is more than 10x the cost (and also see what you gain when you have the budget for the Nova).

Proper studio rooms have always been expensive and as gear costs went down the cost of building the rooms has gone up.

Yes and the major acts still use them.

Founded by hippies, but they're a well-established name in pro audio - concert venues, touring acts, broadcast, recording and mastering engineers, etc. They've been at their Berkeley location a long time, since before real estate prices got quite so insane. I've heard their speakers at KPFA radio in Berkeley, Yoshi's jazz club (both as an audience member and on stage as a performer), and in the studio of a prominent local mastering engineer.



I agree.

Not to mention that in Dubai, that big Mall with the ski resort has over 4,000 small ambient speakers, also reviewed here.
They seem to know what they're doing and how to sell wholesale.

Rezultat je 5,1 , a s savršenim subwooferom bi bio 7,3 (što je vjerojatno slučaj s Amie subwooferom).

Zvučnik je vrlo dobro optimiziran i ne bih koristio EQ s njim.

S ekvilajzerom, izgleda bolje na osi i u prozoru za slušanje, ali nisam uvjeren promjenom PIR-a i negativan učinak se vidi na histogramu. Morao bih poslušati da vidim hoće li to napraviti pozitivnu i čujnu razliku.
S EQ-om, rezultat bi se neznatno povećao do 5,6 (odnosno 7,8 s podvrijednošću).
