Marantz MODEL M1 Wireless Streaming Amplifier

This looks like something SMSL or Fosi Audio could (and should) build and sell for under $300.

They cannot in any way. These companies do have literally zero experience, competence, nor staff in software development.

Remember that a streamer/amp has to rely on this. That's what makes the WiiM Amp such a great product, with excellent user experience. It relies much more on this than on its hardware.

I hope the design and manufacturing are done with a tad bit more care than the proofreading of the product sheet!

The Marantz YouTube video has a brief shot of the innards:
Well, a shot of simulated, generic innards.

Who Is going tò buy the Marantz version for $200 more assuming they are substantially identical?
Remember that the higher price version must always be better, plenty of takers. :)

*In case there happen to be any naïve innocents reading this, the above comment really isn't intended to be serious.

If you're going to take on SONOS, then offer more power, better software or a lower price. Wiim is compelling in this area. But with 125 wpc into 8 Ohms and 250 wpc into 4 Ohms, and a plethora of SONOS ready active speakers for sale to add to your multi-room system, what's the compelling reason to buy this or the Denon over the SONOS amp?

Is the Denon made in Japan?
You get more ‘buttons’ on the front with the Denon so maybe minimalists will pay the extra £/$200 for the Marantz.

From what John Darko’s heard from his Masimo contact components are different. How different? No details around that, but from the little I’ve been able to find on the actual amplifiers used it seems the Denon is using a standard Class D while the Marantz is using something a bit different. It seems it’ll come down to listening to each and deciding if there’s any sonic difference worth mentioning/paying for.

Yeah i am on the edge to buy one of the two for my desktop PC. I am waiting for some good reviews.

Denon Home Amp vs Marantz Model M1

Let the battle begin!

I find it a bit strange that an expensive amplifier from such a powerful brand doesn't have features that allow us to better adjust the sound, like a room correction system and parametric equalizers. JBL released a 5.1 receiver for $599 that has room correction via a mobile app.

Looks like a pretty cool concept, price is not too bad considering what is out there (outside the WiiM) for an all in one unit. With the WiiM Ultra's trigger out, I'm ok using the $700 towards a high perforance amp, like Buckeye PURIFI 1ET400A 2-Channel for $1150 and calling it a day with Amps and streamers.

I also consider for PC and stereo music (near field listening). But... Lack of headphone output makes me too look around. I think about Marantz Stereo 70s. But its big unit. I also thought about small TEAC 303 - but there is so little information about it... Any other ideas?
Id like to pair it with Klipsch RP-500M II and some subwoofer later. Need at least one digital imput, one analog input (two could be best) and sub out.

My main setup is with Marantz Cinema 50 as my home cinema and love it. Front - 2 x Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-6000F II Bi-Amp, central - 1 x Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500C II, side/back surround - 2 x Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500M II, Atmos - 2 x Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-500SA II and subwoofers - 2 x Klipsch SPL-120.
