I haven’t. I am on tour. So, am not anywhere near my stereo equipment. Unfortunately, I won’t be back for a few months. That being said, based on that video, it appears that it hasn’t been resolved yet. I would really suggest that anybody experiencing issues get in contact with Marantz directly.@MelodiousThunk I don't believe you ever reported on whether the most recent firmware update improved this issue, obviously you were you referring to the latest HEOS U36 firmware update that released between March 26th - April 9th?
I can't believe they can't get a handle on this, so the March 5th firmware update "Fixed: Residual noise in the non-oscillating speakers due to a false positive/Fixed a bug that caused noise when used with certain speakers." did absolutely nothing at all for the Model M1?
Yes, my M1 is currently with Marantz’s official repair partner. I have an official Marantz support ticket. Mainly to cover any warranty issues in case the problem persists after the warranty expires. They told me there’s nothing more they can do for now and advised me to test the latest firmware update that was released a few days ago. So that’s what I’ll do once the M1 is back home.Currently, the M1 doesn’t play nice with certain speakers. I tried the M1 with about five or six sets of speakers. I had the same issue you are having with all of them except for the KEF LS150 Metas. The M1 works great with the Metas. It didn’t work with another set of KEF speakers that I have since sold. I believe those speakers were KEF Q150s. Marantz has supposedly been working on a fix for some time now. If possible, I’d try some different speakers. And I would get in contact with Marantz. Maybe they'll get their ass in gear if more people report the same issue.
The M1 sounds insanely good, but the issue is still there — just less frequent. I actually thought it was gone.I hope they figure out the issues with the unit. I was angling for the NAD c379 to use in my 2.1 setup/tv.
The NAD has gone up $300 in the last couple of months.
This M1 ticked every box I needed, but obviously there are issues .
So ...it's a software issue ? Or perhaps a hardware issue as well ?The M1 sounds insanely good, but the issue is still there — just less frequent. I actually thought it was gone.
Last week, I switched to Tidal after realizing that almost every track sounded noticeably better than on Spotify.
How does the M1 sound and power wise do you feel it is ...enough ? I am going toWhile my friend was over at my place mowing my lawn for me, because she was interested in hearing it, I asked her to hook up my M1, update it, and connect it to my Def Techs. She has confirmed that they no longer hiss or make pft pft pft sounds. So, I can confirm that the latest update has fixed the issues that I was having with my M1 and speakers. It's about time!
Unfortunately, I am not home at the moment and will not be for quite some time. So, hopefully someone else here can answer your question. Otherwise, you might consider calling a quality hi-fi shop that carries both products to get their input. How does the M1 sound and power wise do you feel it is ...enough ? I am going to
go from a NAD c328. I know the bluetooth is 4.2 which is awful...but I don't want it for
bluetooth.
I really had my eye on the NAD c379...but the price has gone up...I can get a refurb M1 for
$750. The NAD is 1399...with perhaps 20% off, so $1119..
@Maurice Have you received the latest HEOS U36.1 firmware update on the M1 that was released yesterday on the 29th that brought Dirac Live support, they could've provided a fix for this speaker hissing issue but didn't necessarily document it?The M1 sounds insanely good, but the issue is still there — just less frequent. I actually thought it was gone.

Now they can relly justify it over a WiiM. Not that the WiiM is a bad device, not at all, but in this one, you get "high end" eq.With addition of Dirac the model M1 has become the Swiss knife of amplifiers.
