Making further progress, TOPPING’s new flagship amplifier will be launched in late May!

1kHz is an industry standard, making Amir's results easily comparable with others.

1kHz at 5W and 4 ohms load is NOT an "industry standard". It never has been.

The closest we got to an "industry standard" test was 1W (2.83V) into 8 Ohms and that was for running FR plots, filter analysis etc. Good manufacturers will also specify the FR deviation at full rated power.

Example of an Accuphase:

Amplifiers are properly rated from 250mW to rated power, across a specified bandwidth (usually 20Hz-20kHz) with a distortion figure which is not exceeded anywhere (that means at any frequency or power level within the specified limits), usually both channels driven into both 4 and 8 ohms.

Example of current model McIntosh:

Do you see ANY mention of 1kHz/5W/4R? Anywhere? Nope.

1KHz has always been a cop out for poorly designed products to make their specs look better than they really are, since the dawn of high fidelity. Nothing has changed, it still is.

Why don't you just say you don't know why Amir is running tests at five watts?

Probably because that's right at where most of these fall on their face at full bandwidth testing for any amount of time. Just speculation.

Amir has already told us the answer to that.
SINAD at 1W is usually dominated by noise, and distortion doesn't make a significant contribution until higher power levels. Amir chose 5W as being more a more representative level. If you take SINAD at 1W (with modern transistor amplifiers, at least) you're not getting much more information than simply measuring and comparing SNR.

No idea why peeps are so hyped over Topping still. Im scared shitless everytime they publish new amp. Still missing my broken focals and my left side hearing.

Maybe because they aren't you!

The B200 is a mono post amplifier designed for music lovers with the advantages of high power and low distortion to provide users with a pure listening experience. As an NFCA discrete power amplifier, it breaks through the traditional performance limitations and significantly improves the noise control and reproduction capability.B200 has a surging output power of up to 200W, which is suitable for all kinds of large speakers and provides two gain options to flexibly match different needs, with a dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio of 145dB, THD+N<0.000075%@4Ω5W. B200 can be flexibly matched with TOPPING's decoder to realize zero-distortion listening experience; it can also be matched with Pre90 preamplifier or TOPPING's headphone amplifier with preamplifier function to form a high-power combination set.

Hopefully we get to know the price soon

Out of touch re these amps myself. Assuming the specs are accurate, how does this compare, spec and price wise, to other current Class Ds of similar power output? Ta.

Oh a thread to recruit new possible paying beta testers? Very interesting, yes

Well. Probably better than la90d
Probably this will be the Toppings's best shot so far, but the competition is tough though. I mean 2 monoblocks cost 1200 euros. You can buy a 2 channel Purifi 1ET400 power amp for this price, which measures excellent, has got the power, and more compact. Again my biggest problem is the seperated PSU. Nobody wants to hiding bricks...
