Well, about some critisism on the KEF Q3 [and (smaller) Q's in general], could it also be that, for 'budget hifi', coaxial drivers like the uni-q's are more expensive to make than seperate midwofers and tweeters of comparable quality, so that, apart from the disadvantages of conventional, it's easier to make a good conventional 'budget' speaker like the Elac Debut reference DBR-62? KEF made some very nice small models in Yesteryears, like the 60's Cresta (same drivers as the almost worshipped BBC ls3-5a) and later the (also closed) C-10; specially tuned to be put against a wall or between the books on a bookshelf..
