The upgrade itch is back. I can’t decide what I want to upgrade or buy. I want to get a new turntable and or a set of headphones but can’t decide which is more needed. ‍

Want to upgrade my turntable from Audio Technica AT-LP60 to a Fluance RT-81( plan to put my an Ortofon Cart on it after). Can’t decide if I want to buy Hifiman HE400i or the Sennheiser HD560s.

Ah the dilemma of being an audiophile.

What Ortofon are you planning to get?
You might be better off getting a better stylus for the AT cart with the RT-81 or getting a turntable that comes with an Ortofon.

I have Sennheiser Hd555 and Grado SR80e. I plan to get the Ortofon Blue for the upgrade.

the puppy isn’t doing it anymore. My French bulldog is now a grown man and he ignores me.

Then get an RT-85 that comes with a Blue, and a better motor, platter, and plinth.

I think I might invest more and get the RT83 since it comes with an Ortofon.

OMG, don't BUY a puppy, ADOPT a puppy from a shelter (not only because ethics, but also because you'll get way more support from a shelter than from a commercial store).

83 comes with a Red, which is nothing special with a bonded elliptical. 85 is cheaper than an 83 and a Blue stylus and comparible to an 81 and a Blue cart. And you can afford the 85 now because I suggested the $9 headphones.

Brilliant suggestion. Keeb, have you seen Amir’s review on the $9 cans? Actually a very good suggestion if you have Eq capabilities.

Or just get an 81 and upgrade the stylus... that might be your best option. I like AT carts better than Ortofon.
