desktop speaker placement symmetry

Hi, looking for some suggestion on desktop speaker placement.

The current setup is this (red line is center line of sitting position):

and I'm wondering about swapping the left channel with the secondary monitor since I prefer having the secondary monitor closer to the main one

The speakers are angled to my ears (tweeter axis) in both setup. They are quite close to backwall but that can't be changed as of now.
The non-symmetry of the speaker to listening makes me think this is not ideal.
Any suggestion on how I should place them? Thanks

Place them like in your first sketch.

If you have to do them like the second image, see if you can time-align and balance your levels to account for the difference in distance.
