For $10,000 I expect it to cook me dinner and tuck me in bed every day.
seems like so but I do have faith the dCS ones should be fine, though in my own bar I would say this one pass also, one can hear transparency only so much, the rest are additional "value" on other stuffs.I am trying to recollect of the high-end/expensive dacs that Amir has measured is it only the Tambaqui which has returned decent measurements? ( measurements commensurate with its price).

Judging by the filters implementation they absolute know what they're doing,Amir said they are the best measured so far. Those measurements make me wonder what it actually sounds like?
The design, the spec, the measurements, the sound - they're what they wanted them to be.
There's a part of me that says Bricasti knows more than I do.
Fine measuring piece of a scam.Voted “fine.” I would have liked to have voted “not terrible” due to its high price and poor value proposition, but as I usually do, I am rating on measured performance only.
This product is on sale right now. You can get it with or without the SE revision. So it doesn't matter that the original came out a while ago. it is a current product.I think it is a bit unfair to "judge" or evaluate a 12 years old DAC in comparison with what we have today. Yes it was expansive but at least it was, by this time, certainly in the top of the game, if we have a look on measurements produced by @amirm on the old boys.
Dave does not measure horrible, but I bet all tube DAC's like Audio Note, Lampizator, Audio Research, old Sonic Frontiers do measure poor. And yet many audiophiles prefer their sound to clinical, studio like "perfection".As proud owner of the beautiful sounding Chord Dave I’m always interested in other dacs that measure horrible!
It will sound like every other dac in the top 7/8th of Amir’s list, just more expensive. Those measurements make me wonder what it actually sounds like?

I will bet dollars to donuts that if any of these DAC owners did blind listening tests to their DACs against other DACs they would be completely unable to tell the difference.Dave does not measure horrible, but I bet all tube DAC's like Audio Note, Lampizator, Audio Research, old Sonic Frontiers do measure poor.
