Future Bluesound devices will come ready to handle Dirac Live once a Dirac Live license is purchased through the Dirac website. Backwards compatibility to existing Bluesound devices is also being studied and roll out plans for eligible models will be shared at a later date.

Wow - a move to catch up to the impact Wiim (and their iOS microphone Room Correction function) is having on the "audiophile music streamer" market segment!

Anyway - I have a Node N130 - so I'd love to try Dirac on the Node -- if it's possible...interesting!

Very little chance for the N130 to get Dirac support. I'm quite sure it's only the new Node X and newer devices... I also have the N130 connected to my Denon AVR. If Dirac will be added and it could be activated for the Digital out, then I'll get the license.

In a market with lots of competent and affordable streamers, this will be a standout feature assuming they keep the pricing reasonable. My Cambridge Audio MXN-10 is a bit jealous.

Dirac live is worth every dollar.
I wouldn't run a setup today without it. NAD has now also made the last amplifier in the current portfolio Dirac Live ready, the C700 V2.
Dirac Live seems to be the new Dolby NR.
Without it, it will be difficult to sell a device in the future.

bot the N130 and X are basically the same upgraded HW that runs most of the android boxes out there (quadcore ARM A53), except for a much better DAC in the X
i highly doubt the HW is enough to run both BluOS AND Dirac at the same time...as an owner of the N130 myself tho, i hope i'm wrong, tbh

I'm also doubtful they will incorporate it into the N130 or X. Aside from any processing power issues, it would give the opportunity to sell more stuff by getting at least some N130 and/or X owners to upgrade. Although, assuming the N130/X does have the hardware to do it, they could sell the update packaged with a license and take a profit that way.

C700, nice. It's good to have a low cost integrated option.

As a Node 130 owner I've been looking for updates on this -- now the only evidence so far is the intro of the NAD C700 V.2 that has Dirac as the V.1 unit didn't...

Otherwise total radio silence from Bluesound, NAD, and Lenbrook about ANY Bluesound branded products being updated or even replaced (Node N140?) with the Dirac capability...

This really sounds like Lenbrook floating some PR BS to get potential streamer buyers to keep considering a Node 3 or Powernode 3 instead of jumping ship over to Wiim with their Room Correction feature -- Wiim is likely causing many sleepless nights @ Lenbrook HQ -- it seems that only NAD branded products with sufficient processing horsepower (like the C700 V.2) will get Dirac...

Hope I'm wrong -- I'd love to get an update for my Node 130 to add Dirac (prob would need one of the NAD USB Dongle interface + mic kits to make it work)

Check out www.bluesound.com, something new coming on 8/20/24.

Why? If they don't want to tell me now then it's a complete waste of my time.
Every company has pre-set launch dates for new products & announcements. Google with Pixel products last week, Apple, Tesla etc…thinking Lenbrook won’t lose sleep.

Yes. But's it's just to build the hype. It's of no use to the consumer. And when I bother to follow such things, I usually end up disappointed and lose interest. So the company loses too.

I've already lost interest. I only remembered that post because I got a notification.

And yet here you guys are, talking about Lenbrook's failed attempt at building anticpation for whatever the hell they're gonna announce tomorrow -- guess they've succeeded at least on this one example on one of the most watched audio forums today...

Their website is falling apart today, but the updated Node with Dirac looks like it might finally be a fully digital and user friendly way to add room correction to a pair of Kef LS60s where the only external input so far is a TV via eARC. The screen on the Node Icon would be nice, but I'm not sure it is worth the extra cost.

The only device among the 3 new products that is a departure for Bluesound / Lenbrook is the Node Icon, and based on the minimal description its likely to retail for well over $1200, as they offer higher profit margins for the ever dwindling numbers of "brick and mortar" retailers.

So it'll start off at a market disadvantage compared to the Eversolos and Wiim Ultra, which are the products that forced Bluesound / Lenbrook (no doubt kicking and screaming) to refresh the Node lineup - unfortunately they did this at least a year too late to recover the "audiophile" streamer market...

AND - not a mention of Dirac in the promo email, they've really "f'd up" this opportunity to regain the marketing narrative...

Dirac will be the only feature that serious and technically minded audio enthusiasts (the market they're trying to get back into) will think about if they're to consider buying these products - XLR outputs and a 5" touchscreen aren't enough to make people consider parting with $1200 to $1600, which is my guess at the retail cost of the Node Icon...

The Icon is reported at $1,000 versus the $550 for the updated Node. Wiim is crushing them on value, and with the rate they're moving maybe we'll see Dirac sooner than later.

Really... Even at $1K, Dirac should have been mentioned in the promo email, which implies, at least to me, that they don't have Dirac ready to be implemented in these products...

Dirac and XLR outputs are the only features that'll give the Node Icon a shot at competing with the Ultra...
