I tried the DT770s for a couple of weeks many many years ago. They were too much for [even] me. The Beyer DT990s hit the balance for me between neutral (a la Senn 580 (which I already had and still have—they are twins of the HD600s)) and totally freaked out V-shape FR (which is how I would describe the DT770s).
However, they do what they do and they do it well.
If you want it, they got it. I liked the concept, but for me the DT770s were a bridge too far. I wouldn’t look down on anyone for enjoying them. It’s just a matter of degree.

Okay, I don't know what to think anymore. Give'em a try. Everything I thought I knew is out the window. See what you like, because those who test these things "objectively" are absolutely all over the place.
