AV Receiver without room correction software

If we comparing Yamaha A6A or A8A without room correction software to Arcam AVR21 or AVR31, is it fair? Which one is better?

Some Arcam models that have been reviewed by Amir haven't been that great, so I don't think there will be any significant difference, but you'd need a review of the above models to be sure or at least check their specs to get an idea.
