Are you buying now because you anticipate higher prices?

Teslas have half the EV market and they have the goal of manufacturing as close as possible to the intended market. Germany, for example.
But in Europe, the sales dropped a massive 50% they say, because of the link with the US goverment. Idem in china, where it dropped 35%.

The most sold EV's in Europe are BMW, Mercedes, Volvo and Huyndai/Kia at the moment, not Tesla. Outside the US, the brand is burned for many, and many big lease companies (an important part of the market) start to remove the brand from their catalogue. Untill last year, Tesla did own the market largely, but not anymore. Even if they are locally build.

For hifi, not so many stuff is comming from the US here, most is local made or comes from Asia. So the tarriffs will have minimal impact i think. I don't need no hfii gear at the moment (or near future) so no, i don't buy nothing now.

Tesla produces only one model, for now, in Europe and that model is not subject to tariffs.
Tesla cars produced in China and intended for the European market have tariffs.
China is currently negotiating with the European Union to resolve this issue.

P.S. I apologize to all of you but I often have no way of knowing what nation you live in.

Yes, but that is still 'European auto manufacturing' even if it is a foreign company doing the manufacturing. I don't think there are restrictions on any auto manufacturer setting up a factory and building cars in Europe (let me exclude countries such as Russia whose internal laws I'm just not familiar with).

It is the same here in the UK, we have many German, American and Japanese owned car manufacturers manufacturing in this country and they of course all avoid even the low import duty paid on imported cars. I believe (but could be wrong) that it is the same in America where for example a Chinese car company could build a factory and manufacture their cars locally in the US thus avoiding the import tariffs completely, especially if they manufactured the parts locally in the US as well.

Worse. Did visit a friend of mine who tolde me his wife didn't bought his favorit Heinze Tomato Ketchup any more seriously.

European rating agency Scope sends US downgrade warning. Look at the currency exchange between Euro and US dollar. The dollar is down to .88 for one Euro. Far lower than 2 months ago. Even without the Tariffs this could cause many to avoid purchases outside the country. The US dollar is worth 10% less than it was just 60 days ago.

Berlin-based Scope, which is used alongside S&P Global, Moody's and Fitch by the European Central Bank to judge creditworthiness, said one of the most exposed countries to the trade war was the U.S. itself, particularly in more extreme scenarios. Scope currently rates the U.S. AA with a "negative" outlook. That is lower than the AA+ scores of S&P and Fitch. Moody's is the only major agency to still rate the U.S. a top-grade "triple A".

As far as I'm concerned, currency devaluation has made it a poor time to buy anything outside the USA. As to the OP's question, higher prices are already here. Austerity will actually be the best financial move now until this is resolved.

Maybe he should switch to the (Belgian) Devos & Lemmens ketchup.

My bet is in the end there will be not any significant change in tariffs between EU and the States, also US-China tariffs will be lowered.

Right, but it is done none the less. It's common practice to subsidize land, training and even the social security of the workers of a car factory I live close to
This is not state aid, at least in Italy, it is not aid to a specific brand or a specific sector.
It is about incentivizing hiring.
What you write, I'm sorry but I don't know in which country you live, are policies allowed and managed by state and regional laws.
It is different from facilitating the sale of a product by lowering taxes in that single sector or directly financing producers with state money.

I personal love the great Belgium friet an mayyyonaisss. Must be the Ossewit oil.
:)

Preferably eaten whilst stood in a wet, freezing and muddy Belgian field in the depths of winter, watching and hurling abuse at the cyclocross racing going on.

:p

I bought one fairly high ticket item a couple of months ago, not because of tariffs, which I fully expected, but because of the inevitable disruption to the supply chain whenever C. Little begins dancing. So I moved my purchase date forward 6 months or so. (If I'd known how much better the espresso was going to be, I'd have pulled the trigger sooner.)

To be honest Scotland also isn't famous with sunny fields and golden beaches :)

When are we going to see serious action from americans opposing Trump and his administration of fools?
You do realise he is destroying your country in all kinds of ways, so I hope?
The presidente of the Dutch national Bank called Trump an economical terrorist a few days ago and he is absolutely right!

I live in a very western part of Germany and am occasionally in Roermond, Maastricht and Liège.

The Netherlands and Belgium undoubtedly have the best Pommes-Frites in the world and also the best non-homemade mayonnaise.

D&L and Calve mayonnaise are my favorites, but I won't buy large quantities of them because I'm not afraid that the prices will go up.

Bourbon and Tennessee whiskey are a completely different story, which is why I ordered a few more bottles than usual.

Total confusion for Cambridge Audio ,Yamaha and LG. Or rather they are thinking about what to do next regarding pricing. What Trump will do tomorrow or in a week, no one knows. Good luck with the planning, I'll just say.

Audio Pro will however raise prices:

Audio Pro CEO, Nils Ankarcrona, told What Hi-Fi?: “We will be increasing prices by 20 per cent in the US market as of April 15. This is a necessary step due to rising costs in our supply chain and imports.”
