Are you buying now because you anticipate higher prices?

That survey was carried out and ran by the Daily Mail, an utter cesspit of a newspaper, not even deserving for use in a cat litter tray.
I feel for you, but have pity on those of us on the other side of the pond. We haven't had an honest journalist since Edward R. Murrow gasped his last, nearly 60 years ago.

The Daily Mail supported the fascists in the 30’s and has maintained their position ever since.

Horrible…horrible paper for a horrible readership
It's not called "The Daily Heil" for nothing.

On topic, I bought a Fosi ZD3 and 2 Topping D90 III Discrete DACs, and 3 Pi2AES all prior to tariffs.
I have a DAC to sell, but I might wait to see if it increases in value.

I just upgrade to an LG 83G5 OLED.

I'm all set for a good while.

Sorry, after covid, I have acquired natural immunity to the vapors :p

Actually nor american, nor european consumer product can be produced with out China involvement. The topic is very deep and complicated and it is not for our forum.
But it is fair to admit that there is some trade imbalance between US and the rest.
The tariffs overall can be part of two main vectors - ideological fight or good old commercial extortion.
I hope the latter - irrational disputes don't ends well.

I hope this is taken not as political but rather informative. I get the impression reading this thread and others that people think President Trump is losing popularity in the US. due to tariffs and other policies and he will be forced to change them. This is not the case so far. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14610691/donald-trump-approval-rating-tariffs.html
I'm an American, living through this fastly unfolding unprecedented chaos brought on by manipulated starlink election vote "data/counts" resulting in the current "commander in chief" getting owned by those that made it happen. Sorry, kick me off for being politically upset and not overly concerned what stereo stuff might get affected by his insane bully tactic tariffs.

That is simply dreamy overstated nostalgia nonsense.

And I'm sure Murrow would be castigated by the 'other side' today, just as other good journalists are.

'The rest'? Who and what, exactly? You must factor in trade in services as well as goods.

Doubtful. He was pretty much respected by both sides. I don't know your age, but America was far less polarized during the years when Morrow was active. If there was another side, it was TV management, who were trying to turn news into entertainment. Look where that's gotten us. Read up on Murrow. You might be surprised.

As for good journalists: if such exist, I don't know I'd trust any of them who weren't castigated by their own side.

I've probably spent about $3500 in the last few weeks on various things I was putting off. Just because I figure things (prices) are not going to get any cheaper in the next six months. So to the OP's question, yes.

No new car purchases on the horizon- taking a wait-and-see approach to that one.

I guess that’s $3500 of investments - well done, that’s how I’d view such purchases ;)

I’m a Canadian and I used to buy gear from the USA and have them sent to one of those cross porter pick up services, where I would cross the border and pick it up in the USA and bring it back home.

Now I would not only consider the higher price of the gear due to the tariffs, but the wisdom of even crossing the border, given all the shenanigans going on there.

All is not lost as long as you can still get Marmite :)

This is the German version of "Marmite" or "Vegemite" with the difference that Vitam-R uses whole baker's yeast cells and a liitle sea salt, instead of spent brewer's yeast.

Maybe he should switch to the (Belgian) Devos & Lemmens ketchup.

I grew up in both Europe (Austria [born in Salzburg], Germany, mostly) and the deep South of the USA (concieved in Charleston, South Carolina, USA). We always had a variety of things in our refrigerator.
Heinz is NOT my favorite Ketchup (despite my last name being Heins).
There are several brands from both the USA & other countries that I prefer.
My issue with ketchup is High Fruticose Corn syrups (real sugar OK) but ketchups that are too sweet in general.
And ones that are not savory. Preferably some herbs & spices but not hot like a Chili Pepper.
