is there any advantage to using the audiolinux O/S instead of windows 11? I have been using windows since the 1990's for audio, but now I have been told that there are benefits in latency etc. by using audiolinux? The trouble is I am used to the GUI whereas, audiolinux seems to be very much commandline based and i am totally lost! I am trying to set up a system with backend/endpoint & laptop remote control PC's (3), but don't have the skill to do this from the command line and wondered if it is worth the cost(?) when other linux systems are FREE? Is there really that much difference in latency etc? I would have to learn a whole new way of doing things and i don't know if i am capable or that learning curve at my age? cheers!

The last times that I installed Redhat and Mandrake it was pretty much command line free. OSs vary I figure but the operation was all GUI driven.

For me, Windows + foobar works great for audio playback. No motivation to explore Linux platforms for my main rig. I do have moode running on a secondary system, not so user friendly to me.

For pure audio playback, latency does not affect user experience / music enjoyment. Audio latency may become an issue if video is involved.
