Equalizer APO delay function for streaming

I'm using Equalizer APO in Windows 10 to try and get the best audio I can from the Digital Concert Hall streaming site of the Berlin Philharmonic into my audio system which consists of a Bifrost 2/64 DAC, Kara F preamp, Aegir 2F amp, and restored Allison Two speakers. I also use a Midgard headphone amp with Hifiman HE1000se headphones. Archived videos from the Digital Concert Hall site stream audio in lossless FLAC at 24 bit/48KHz. The stream is accessed through browsers and they do not provide a player that allows selection of the WASAPI exclusive function. I'm using Equalizer APO with no filtering to attempt to bypass original/hidden APOs and I'm using the preamp function of the program for attenuation to protect against Windows limiter-induced distortion. A problem for me with the Digital Concert Hall stream in Windows 10 is that when "Stereo Hi-res" is selected, video and audio are out of sync. Using the "Channels Delay" control on the PEACE GUI effects panel, a 320 msec delay seems to perfectly achieve synchronization with video. My question: is the delay function likely to introduce distortion and/noise? It sounds good to me listening casually, but I'm going for the best audio I can get out of this system.

Not very likely. As I understand it the delay command in Equalizer APO (which Peace uses) is simply delaying (through buffering) the samples of a channel or channels. I think this doesn't introduce distortion and/or noise.

Thank you Peter, and thank you for PEACE. It is a great help for those of us that struggle a little with the nuts and bolts of Equalizer APO.

No problem. Most of the support I'll do on the Equalizer APO forum so it's best to go over there. But I'll try to respond more on posts here.

If you have other EQ adjustments or effects applied along with the delay, they could interact in unexpected ways, but this isn't inherently a problem with the delay alone.

To prevent this of happening apply a delay on all channels and do the effects and EQ on these delayed channels. This is what Peace does when using its channel delay (field).
