Not a really wild place, but I like the view from our backyard balcony into the garden.

Jeep trip yesterday. Couple of (rough, rocky, muddy) hours to a great view of some Colorado mountains. Couple of non-Jeeps snuck in; they made it back.

Not a wild place, more like a lost place in the wild, but interesting. There are strange things around here. For example, about fifteen minutes from home, in a small forest across the Polish border, completely hidden, there is a beautiful castle and a park and surrounding buildings. It was renovated in 2003, the owner died and since then it has been completely empty, is inaccessible and locked. There used to be a guard with a dog who would chase you away if you were brave enough to get past the no trespassing sign and the barrier to the private path. In fact, few people who live here know about the castle, because it cannot be seen from a nearby road or ways. We never saw other people here, let alone tourists. Incredible, but true. We sometimes walk there under old oak trees along the water that surrounds it. Especially when it is hot in the summer.

I always have to think of the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty. 'Dornröschen' in German.

Short trip just to get out of the house (wife's off today). Top o' the hill looking over the foothills of the front range in CO, USA.

A different kind of wild, but definitely wild.

My brother just got back from a diving trip to Indonesia, and here are a few of his pics.

For those who've driven from California to Las Vegas and came across Zzyzx road and wondered where it goes. This is a view from it. A part of the Mojave desert.
