Adam Savage YouTube channel used a CT scanner to look inside an Apple thunderbolt cable and compared the engineering with an Amazon Basics and an even cheaper cable.
And crazy as it might seem I can totally see how Apple can justify the cost of the cable - the engineering lots very impressive, of course the majority of this was needed to transfer super high bandwidth thunderbolt data and not just normal USB, but its funny that the cables almost look the same given the difference internally.
I would imagine a 100 audio cable companies are looking at this video - thinking we need to tell our customers we do this and sell them "Audiophile" USB cables.
