What headphone(s) do you own ?

I have:
- Philips SHP9500
- Phillips Fidelio X2HR
- Superlux HD681 with velour earpads, and they are my N°1 studio monitors for electronic music production
- Sony MDR ZX110 with velour earpads
- Ritmix RH-508. I don't use it now, but they were my studio monitors for 5 years
- AKG K371. This headphones I want to sell, because I don't like how they sounds. X2HR and 9500 in my opinion sounds more wider and interesting.

I want to keep a pair of headphones for walking and working out and working with music.

And I want to ask your advice: would it better to buy AKG K702 for studio monitoring? Will they sounds wider in compare to HD681, SHP9500 and X2HR? I also read that the 702 has weak rubber bands that weaken over time.

How many of you have encountered this problem with AKG version 7XX?
In my opinion K702 is only good when used with EQ as it's a pretty wild frequency response, albeit a smooth frequency response that is successfully EQ'd. Unit to unit variation could be an issue with this headphone which means EQ's you find on the net are less valid, because you can't guarantee your headphone is very close to the headphone(s) that was measured during the creation of the EQ. I think K702 are really very good with the right EQ though, just it could be hard to reach that EQ. The rubber bands do slacken over the years so the clamp force will be less after a number of years (the elastic can be replaced though). The solder also fails on the wires in the earcup and then you have to solder them back on, but if you solder them back on properly then it won't fail. So you can see K702 is an unpredictable headphone to buy & own, but if you can get the EQ right then I think it's a very good headphone.

I’m incredibly hard on headphones…student radio DJ in college/gym/yardwork/I have the bad habit of falling asleep in them (side sleeper)

Owned many, many throughout the years…the usual suspects. Koss, Philips, Sony, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamics, Grado, ATH

Currently with low cost fun headphones. I have a stupid large head and small ears, so I tend to choose headphones with large, thick pads and low clamping force

I have changed my Chord 1 to a Head Box S2 digital. I use it to my Audeze LCD-X. I think the S2 sound at least if not better than the Chord. Have anybody here tried the Head Box? Thanks.

I've spent a silly amount of time flip flopping between the kilobuck iem slog and trying to find a solid closed-back headphone. Thing seem to have calmed down and I've landed on a pair of Mr. Speakers/DCA Ether C Flow 1.1s using Oratory1990's eq profile.

I find their circular earpad shape with a rectangular ear opening to be quite a bit more comfortable than the shape used on the Aeon series, especially combined with the pressure from the clamping force. Because of this its hard to get too excited about some of the new offerings from DCA. I am hoping they release an open-back to compliment the E3, so it'll lower the price of used Ether 1s and 2s.

I have owned many different headphones over the years but I have always come back to my HD 800. I sold them and missed them so much I bought a pair of HD 800S. I don't know if I'll ever buy anything else at this point. Besides loving their sound they are just so comfortable. I can wear my 800s for hours at a time with no fatigue.

Nothing ridiculously expensive, yet I've managed to amass over two dozen through the years: beyer 990, 770, Fostex T50RP, AKG K240DF, K701, 7506s, Sennheiser HD 650 to name a few, plus a bunch of cheap experimental ones that can surprise such as Superlux and some recent IEMs from the likes of Linsoul and Xiaomi. Some of these are over 30 years old, like the beyerdynamics which I bought in 1994. And the funniest thing is, I listen mostly on speakers :)

I don't tend to change headphones very often, so these reflect almost 20 years of use (from oldest to newest):
  1. Sennheiser HD 280 Pro (2005, silver edition)
  2. Audio Technica ATH-M50S (2011, original, pre X)
  3. Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X (2022)
Most recently, purchased and returned a pair of refurbished Hifiman Edition XS. Felt loose on my head, headband creaked when I moved and the sound just felt thin. I could have played with EQ a bit, but the physical issues weren't going away. Probably just keep the Beyers until I have a justifiable need to change them.

Just snagged the JBL Tune 720BTs and they're seriously impressive for the price! Like, 50 bucks and they sound great, have a crazy long battery life (think 76 hours!), and are super comfy. Plus, they're wireless so no more tangled mess. If you're looking for good headphones without spending a fortune this ones are preaty good

Bought the $69 JT1 for my daughter three weeks ago for when she gets back from University next week. I swear I just wanted to break them in and make sure they weren’t faulty….they haven’t left my ears in two weeks.

Ridiculously easy to drive. No need for EQ…just $3 Walmart iPhone dongle and have fun. Incredibly enjoyable and low maintenance headphone.

I would fully agree. These damn Jt1's are a miracle at their basement bargain price. Easy to drive:
BT DAC/AMP: FiiO BTR5, Muse HiFi M4
Vintage receiver: Hitachi SR-503L
Dongle DAC: Abigail, Tiandirenhe (CX31993 + MAX97220)
Well tuned. Good detail, extension. Nice base. I enjoy M/F vocal genre's with it.
Comfortable!!!!
Cable with MIC is pretty cool.

I have a pair of DT 770 PROs 250Ω for monitoring electric guitar. I have a pair of DT 880 Edition 250Ω for mixing and HIFI listening. I have three pairs of DT 990s Editions. (I don't have any issues with the treble obviously!) Two are 250Ω Black Special Editions. One is for HIFI listening, and the other one is for PC gaming. The third pair Edition 32Ω for mobile. I bought the third pair 32Ω for mobile before I bought my first DAC/AMP. I don't own any Beyerdynamic stock, but if they were publicly owned I should.

Next, I'm looking at the FiiO FT3 as an impulse buy for something different, or something from HIFIMan like the Sundara.
So, I did end up buying the FiiO FT3, and then the FiiO FT5, and then the FiiO JT1!

The FT3 has an amazing soundstage and I think it will eventually replace my DT 990 Edition for gaming. The FiiO FT5 are my favorite for hi-fi listening now overall, with the FT3 being a close second. The JT1 is simply amazing at $70 USD. They sound great, they are comfortable, and they have a microphone. I've been using them on the work laptop for calls. and casual hi-fi listening. They are a lot of bang for the buck.
