What headphone(s) do you own ?

Audio Technica ATH-AD900X
Hifiman HE-400Se Stealth Mag
Hifiman Sundara Silver
Superlux HD672 modif.
Superlux HD681red

What about a topic on the type of jack input for every headphone model that is reviewed OR let-s include this information on every review ?

I found it to be a pain in the ass that many models have non standard jack inputs; for ex. my models:
ATH M50x - 3.5mm proprietary jack, that is some rotating screw model...
Meze 99 Classic - 3.5 mm non proprietary BUT long jacks

I bought myself a balanced dongle, then I boght the balanced 4.4mm cable BUT as it has normal/ standard 3.5mm jacks -> it does not work with my headphones. So now I have to look for adapters. Pain in the ass, as I said.

Headphones with a single 3-pin connector in the headphone can not be used with balanced gear.
When there are 4.4mm cables for it (that have 4.4 plug and 3-pin for a specific headphone) they can be used with most gear having a 4.4mm socket.
That gear, however, must be wired internally so that both balanced and SE operation is possible.

I have Hifiman Edition XS, Sennheiser HD650, Sennheiser HD600, AKG k712 Pro and Sennheiser HD560s. My favorites are HD600 and Edition XS.

Right

RIght.
Which is why such details, starting with the size and particularities of jacks, possibility to use balanced dac/ amps etc should be mentioned in reviews. Cause almost 100% of headphones buyers do not test headphones for a living

Agreed ... I always mention (and list) them in my reviews.

Just changed my gear out:
1. Fatfreq Grand Maestro
2. Dita Perpetua
3. 64 Audio Volur

Relatively new to the world of wired 'proper' headphones after years of using wireless for convenience. I now have the time and space to use wired.

Wired open: HifiMan HE1000 Stealth
Wired closed: Dan Clark Audio Noire X

I have access to quite a few headphones but the pair I have used most is the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro with some thicker earpads and a bit of damping inside the cup.
I got sent a pair before they were released and have used them ever since. They are not the best sounding headphone but as I use them in the workshop whilst building things, they hit the combo of durability + sound quality. Most high end headphones would not survive what these go though and with the thicker pads I can wear them all day without them getting uncomfortable.

Same here;):

  • I own a AKG701 for probably more than 10 years now but have never really used it.
  • I am very happy not only with the convenience but also with the sound quality of my Airpods Pro 2 /Iphone 15 combo (usually listening when not at home to my music library via Roon's ARC). I am perfectly aware that this is "lossy" and not SOTA but I like it and this is what matters:p
  • Now want to add wired headphones to hifi system at home and just bought a "budget" headphone amp/dac (Topping DX3Pro+) to start and for some serious listening tests
  • Dan Clark Audio Noire X plus
  • Sennheiser HD660S 2
and expect to receive within next week following "budget" IEs
  • Moondrop Chu II
  • Truthear Gate
  • Truthear x Crinacle Zero:Red
Really curious about the final verdict of my deaf ears;):

Sony wh-1000xm6
Sony wh-1000xm3
Galaxy Buds 3 pro

I was just listening to the new Castellows album Homecoming and the clarity of the individual instruments and vocal soundstage is really something in the Arya. Love them.

AKG K371 (somewhere in my house, probably)
Sennheiser HD560S
Hifiman Edition XS (will probably sell)
Truthear GATE
Dan Clark Noire X or Noire XO (undecided which one I'll keep)

Just ordered Focal Clears, havent arrived yet. Have HD202, a no name Hugo Boss branded cheap pair from like 2012, Shure SE425 in-ears and Galaxy Buds FE buds.
Would like to own the HD 660S2 and Hifiman Aryas for comparison between the 3 high-end models to decide on my endgame setup.

Just curious ...只是好奇

HD600s and Origins are my favorites. The K702 and Novas are my disliked ones respectively.

I'm the new proud owner of the HiFiMan Edition XS. Picked them up on Amazon during Prime week. A bargain at half-off! I was only convinced after visiting my son recently and getting to sample his Audeze LCD-2s. While the Edition XS is not quite in the same league($$), I'm simply blown away with their sound. The clarity and organic sound produced by the Planar Magnetics is nothing short of awesome. I haven't attempted to EQ them, as I think they sound great right outta the box! Plenty of highs, articulate mids, and just the right amount of bass - for me. So far, I haven't found anything not to love. Well, maybe the headband issues, but I'm looking at some of the add-on solutions to 'fix the fit' for my head. Great value.

I'm trying to choose my first high-end headphones and I want to ask you why you chose the aeon 2 open? Initially, I wanted to buy them, but when I saw how many laudatory reviews there were about the aeon 2 noire, I hesitated. Share your experience of using them and why did you choose open?
