Are you implying you own/use/have these headphones?

Wow!

How do you remember them all? Do you use them in your work or something?

I'm looking for a planar or ribbon open back.

I'll be 100% honest I know nothing about headphones but I've always used ribbons and planars down to 2-300hz

I've been listening to a lot of music at night the last few months and as good as my systems sound at 65-75db
at 0300 hours the dog still barks. Intruder alert!!!! LOL

Any suggestions? I like to be able to still hear at night. Muffs that cover my ears don't allow that.

I'm sure I have a decent preamp here somewhere. If not I can come up with one.

Is there a something for under 3-400.00. I'm thinking I'll be using them a lot more vs speakers if thing progress
the way they are.

Regards

I own all of these headphones. I made a list to remember it.

Listening with headphones is one of my passions. so I buy a lot of them. Each pair has its own unique sound and finding a good pairing with audio gear is like blending grape varieties. Each combination gives a unique sound.

New entry: a Beyerdynamic DT 1770. Bought used at a really great price. The velours pads were worn, the pleather ones were new. While the pleather pads aren't bad I bought new velour pads out of curiosity. With the velours pads the sound is better balanced, the pleather pads have a bit more recessed mids and make the sound slightly hollow.

All in all the best sealed headphone I had up to this point.

I recently bought Senn HD600 to replace my closed-back HD380 Pros (which are pretty awesome) and really love them. They are so much more comfortable being open back and the soft ear pads, and I can literally wear them all day without fatigue. Much better for mixing.

Hey everybody! My first post. So glad I found this forum. I don't know how I've not run across it before now!

For $199 it was a total steal, but since then many manufacturers have come out with better deals, including Sennheiser.

Were they* ever that cheap? Paid double that, easily, years ago. RRP is currently EUR 500,-

What are the better deals at $199 (let alone 500)? Genuine question. :)

At close to $199 I'd say the HD 560S. In the $300-500 range there's the HD 490 Pro, and I'd also rather go for the HiFiMan Sundara or Aune AR5000 since they have more potential with EQ.

Only Sony XM5 and AirPods Pro. Wireless for the convenience wins for me.

Sound quality is just ok so I am going to get one pair of wired phones in the $200-300 range for use on a Mac Mini M1 / MacBook Air M2.
