A long convoluted music path this week led me to Dead End Street by The Kinks as it all but sums up our state of living all these years on from 1966 (come on, I was only nine years old back then). This then brought me to the B side, which was quite 'prog' for this young kid back then. The remastered mono version sounds dire to me, but this stereo-ish mix is different and much cleaner (probably hadn't the 'compressor' treatment many singles had). NOT a HiFi recording though but it still gets me as it did all those years ago -
