Grateful Dead - Europe '72 Vol. 3: City Hall, Newcastle, England 4/11/72 (Live)

So my birthday was last week and I had one of those long strange nights and decided since it's the 50th anniversary of Grateful Dead's super successful Europe '72 album and i own "Europe '72 The Complete Recordings" box set, i would play the date closest to my birthday which ended up being 4/11/72 and WOW!!! what a show! straight face melt material! I can't believe you don't here more people raving about this show, but when you do it's nothing but praise. awesome show from start to finish. in the second set they shoot a rocket deep into space but bring it back and and finally set you down so soul stirringly smooth with the rarely played "brokedown palace" you'll be left with nothing but a big grin where your face use to be. basically a hidden gem and so far my favorite show from the tour. They are (re)releasing the complete 5/26/72 show, which was the last show on the tour, for the 50'th celebration and is suppose to be the best one from the tour, but i'm still sitting on that one and probably check it out next month. but for now, this one ROCKS!!!

and even though the box set is long out of print, you can still get purchase a lossless download from nugs.net (amazon only does mp3) ✌️

Thought you might enjoy this, though you may already have it . . .

Fun personal fact: Years ago, working as a cabinet-maker/furniture-builder (now retired), I was hired by a well heeled cardiologist to build a large drawer cabinet to house a quite substantial collection of DAT cassettes (remember those?) that he had made at every Grateful Dead concert he could make it to over many years. That's dedication!

Thought I replied earlier but it appears that it might not have sent so I'll do you the courtesy again: Both really but especially that "Sexy girl" drivel. Misogynistic, sexist objectification of what womanhood is "supposed" to be, at the beck and call of manhood that never matured beyond adolescence. But hey, whatever floats your boat. - I appreciate that we should favor keeping this thread light and friendly but I just really couldn't entirely hold back on this. With so much good music out there, why this?
(1) Think you did NOT understand the lyrics as it is meant to be just the opposite what you described.
(2) It is the answer to the threads title: "What are we listening to right now". If u think this entitles you to decide whatever is good or bad music, you might have a problem.

(1) Then why attach it to a marginally pornograhic video?
(2) Like I said, whatever floats your boat.
(3) No worries though. I’ll stay in my lane in the future.

German Indie, 20 Jahre 2raumwohnung, superb on phones:

I hadn't heard 2raumwohnung before.

With @mvleff's reaction, the thing was to check them out. Are they a reactionary, sexist cesspool? Dance genre artist sometimes have simplistic/unreflective politics. But a lot of the old-timey stuff posted in this thread is too reactionary for my palate. I'm thinking these guys not in that category, after a quick read. But make up your own mind, obvs.

I will post this obvious antecedent—from Air's fabulous Moon Safari—in the interest of gender equity:

Thank you for your posts re: the bit of a hornets nest that I managed to stir up and for offering some light and not just heat on the matter. I will concede that musically I actually like both "Sexy Girl" and "Sexy Boy." With respect to message, "Sexy Boy" is to me more relatable. The link you offered re: "Sexy Girl" helped put the track in some perspective. I'm not a prude, though maybe a bit old school, still thinking that the "Sexy Girl" video doesn't do justice to gender equity. Hey, just my perspective. But thanks again for jumping in and shedding more light, less heat. - Now it's time for me to get on with life, love . . . and music!

Yes, the Sexy Boy video sends up sexual objectification, while Sexy Girl dives right in. I had to read up for clues on where they might be coming from.
