What are the WORST headphones of 2024?

This is exactly why the human ears plus brain are so decisive in our hobby. I own the DT770 Pro X... absolutely love them. Which means I don't find them too trebly. I listen to a lot of ECM label jazz on Qobuz, which means well recorded instruments, notably the drum set. I adore the sound of the hi-hats and cymbals on these records, through these headphones. But hey, that's just me. On a side-note, have people actually listened to the headphones (any), or are they just assuming by looking at the curve graphs?
I think it would be nonsensical listing headphones you haven’t listened to.
I’m glad you get along with the Beyer. I found it extremely piercing up top myself, but then again the old DT770s treble peak is also way too much for me.

HD800S are way worse in that regard, bot EQ and non EQ to the point where I did returned them :D

Individual perception may vary but objective data show that the HD800S has definitely less treble than the DT770:

Unfortunately there is no 'DT770 pro' there are a few DT770 pro and aside from the obvious difference (the impedance) they sound and measure differently too.
Below the 32 ohm (pleather pads) vs 250 ohm (velour pads).

But yes, all of them including pro X models have excessive treble (by design) and a substantial dip around 4kHz.
It is quite possible some folks might prefer that over HD800 (which also dips in that range but quite differently and a lot less) has elevated treble (just not as much) and a very different bass-midrange presentation (the dip around 220Hz kind of 'dis-attaches' the elevated bass from the mids where the HD800 emphasis this area a little.
Preference....
