What are the best headphones you would recommend in the $100-$250 range? What headphones do you have?

I think Yamaha stopped retailing transducers some years ago because they don't have the following. Even the NS-10M series was stopped. I am very open minded for new gear but in general the Japanese have not been successful in transducers and the Japanese in general have not been for the entire history of high end audio. Yes, they made the best audio equipment mechanisms, yes they made the best mass made amps, tape decks and CD players for specs but transducers is something they've never attacked. :D

Sony C800G, proprietary mic transducer made by Sony Taiyo division is very sought out and well known in the pro-audio world. Yamaha NS10 / Studio designed by Akira Nakamura. Yamaha MSP / Studio series designed by Akira Nakamura. The Japanese have been making great transducers and in the pro-audio division for a long time. Audio Technica is also well known brand for their transducers.
