The room obviously was not designed with acoustics in mind. Same for the speaker.I have no problem with room design - i like industrial/minimalism.
That couch on the other hand... Ouch... I really can't imagine myself getting comfortable on it after hard working day.

I can't see anything unusual here, but sound engineering practice - stepped baffle for the tweeter, slanted baffles for lower diffraction effects and angled lower woofer for aligning the same distance to the listener as the upper woofer.
