I missed these posts back in November, but interesting speakers certainly, and I'd love to see how they spin (edit: looks like maybe more measurements up now? At least they say CEA 2034 individual drivers in cabinets ... but not the assembly).

In terms of costs, of course we can assemble the same drivers into a rectilinear box ourselves and spend less money, or rely on someone else doing so and marketing it. But Sun Audio presumably aim to maintain a sustainable business with all the associated overheads and manage certain volumes—probably small—so we need to account for that. As you say, depending on comparison context, we can also see them as a bargain.
They are on spinorama and apparently they measure very well:

yikes, I would like to see the measurements to see how this cut out below the tweeter change the dispersion
For a moment i can't do the measurements for you but have no doubt that Ole Lund Christensen (founder of Gamut) has a perfect sense on how to make these little babies sing and they do! I might just add that in my possession i did have some Audio Physic speakers: Avanti 3, Sitara, Step 25, also have listened Scorpios and all they are really fine, especially at soundstage/imaging which i always looking for because i'm fanatic of that particular aspect in sound and Audio Physic are considered one of the best choices in the market for that...I was really glad with AP until tried these ones...these are on another level.

Some folks spend more money than this for "art" objects or jewelry, so if these speakers (or any others you prefer) are good for your circumstances, then enjoy!
True, if you system choice is more about presenting a "art object", than actually buying a High Fidelity rig.

But nothing prevents someone from owning pricey high-fidelity rigs AND also owning costly 'art objects'.

Some one should make speaker grills that are art-work and easily interchangeable but still transparent.
I hate the black grills  on my speakers. Yet, there is no clean way to McGyver them to a more woodsy color.

Only his wallet
