USBc out to USBc in on iPad Pro. Settings in logic recognise e2x2 but when I go to record , it won’t. Swap out the Topping for another audio interface and no problem.

I'll try it out with my IPad Pro later today and see. I don't have Logic on IPad though. Is there a free DAW on IOS program that's like Logic?

Doesn't the iPad have to be connected to the OTG port?
But does the E2x2 have its own USB power supply?

It’s the basic e2x2 so not sure about OTG. There’s a usb power in mainly for when you’re using 48v phantom power. But, I have it connected to a power bank anyway.

Then you would have to ask Topping whether the interface works with the iPad or whether you might need an OTG cable.

How are you connecting it?
This, because it is 100% iOS compatible, it's specifically listed in the marketing.

It has 2 usb-c ports one to connect to a device, and one for supplemental power if the device can't provide enough.

Oh, I don't have the E2x2, only the E2x2 OTG.

On another note, I have no idea where my Ipad Pro is. LOL! I've spent an hour tearing through my place and can't find it. I did find three old laptops, including my old surface pro, some cables I was looking for, a Android phone hub, which should let me charge my phone at the same time as plugging into the E2x2 OTG and a bunch of random stuff under my bed not all good! LMAO! When my gf comes home, I'll just ask her the password to her non Ipad Pro. Sorry man.

Oh, also what Ipad Pro do you have, I have the M1 Ipad Pro 11 inch.

I thought I’d post my findings for anyone who might be interested.
It seems that there is a problem with the USB C socket. With the cable pushed fully in I can get playback of recorded music but no recording.
With the cable pulled halfway out I can get it to record but without any monitoring of recorded material . I have used various cables all with the same results.
I would imagine that to have it repaired wouldn’t be viable cost wise.
I understand that this is probably not the forum to be talking about recording matters so will now see if anyone has had similar issues on Sound on Sound forum.
Thanks for everyone’s replies to my dilemma.

Why would you assume that? I mean, combining recording & playback capability in one box is the whole purpose of this device category - and people, who aren't interested in recording, might as well consider just a DAC (or DAC/headphone amp combo or whatever) instead.

Have you tried setting your project in Logic to 44.1kHz/16bit or if possible in the Topping app?
