I'm currently looking into audio interfaces, and the Topping E2X2 has caught my attention as a possible choice. It seems to offer some solid features at a competitive price, and the reviews have been mostly positive. I’m mainly interested in using it for live audio work, specifically vocal tracking with effects. So, roundtrip latency is a big factor for me. I want to avoid any noticeable delay when monitoring with real-time effects.
According to Julian Krause's video from about a year ago, the Topping E2X2 clocked in at 7.1 ms of roundtrip latency when running at 48 kHz and a buffer size of 8 samples. While that’s decent for most applications, I’m curious if there have been any firmware updates or driver improvements over the last year that have brought that latency down even further. For anyone who has used the Topping E2X2 recently - has the performance in this area improved, or has it remained around the same?
