I saw the great Linda Ronstadt mentioned, but she needs another post.

One of the first songs that really captured my attention was 'Different Drum' from back when she was with the Stone Poneys: I'm cheating, because the song is from the 60's, but she was definitely one of the voices of the 70's and 80's.

She's still high on my list of greatest female singers ever.
