RMAF 2016: McIntosh Audio

I've not had much exposure to McIntosh (or anything other than what I have/had)... But the remaining impression was a clean, powerful, yet relaxed, sound. I probably heard SS amps.

Tube: $4500 (2010)

SS Monoblock: $8200 (2004)

It must be the imagined or real output transformer house sound that gets to you and you either want it or don't... along with the glow in the dark blueness.

Cool Stuff. Dave O'Brien tested over a million amps!

Say what?

There it is, in the link:
"Dave O’Brien passed away on January 9, 2007. He was born on May 3, 1928 in Worthington, Ohio. He was the son of Margaret K. and Harry R. O’Brien. He is survived by his brother Donald and nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by many people who met him at the McIntosh clinics where he tested more than a million amplifiers all over the United States over a span of 30 years."

Ok. Let's see...

1,000,000 amplifiers and 30 years is 33,333/year
128 per weekday
16 per hour
No vacation, sick days, travel days, or other interruptions

Now that's what I call a strong work ethic. :D
