Edit/addendum to my last post, Greg: I realised I had an iPad with 3.5mm input in my armoury that can run HouseCurve with the iMM-6 plugged in directly and just WOW, it's a super nice app. Plain to see how much care and thought has gone into it and needless to say, perfect for my needs of measuring tweeter, woofer and combined units! Thanks heaps.

Thanks! Check out https://housecurve.com/tuning. It'll give you an idea of what the app does and how you can apply it to your kitchen. I was inspired to make the app after trying to tune my own kitchen by ear :)
Hi there.

So i started experimenting and wanted to ask for your perspective. I tested a „panel“ behind me on the wall.
However i am still trying to „calibrate „ my sight and interpretation of what i see so i get a better feeling about what is happening.

When you see these two measurements . What do you think? What happened ?

The upper one is Before and the Lower one after placing the panel

I've had spectroid installed for a while, though it's not easy to calculate the PEQ settings from it.
I searched for advanced spectrum analyzer pro and couldn't find an app of that name.

A late reply to your question but it looks like the panel was a positive addition. Not knowing the type of panel - I'm guessing it's a fabric covered thing no more than 4" deep and big enough for your LP which are most affective for the mid range and tweeters. The trough between 1-4k and peak at 6&16k are evened out with less variance from target curve.

HouseCurve is great, I use it for quick and dirty set ups for friends but if you want to get deeper into things like how the panel is affecting clarity and decay times look into the free app REW for PC/Mac/Linux.

For iOS, you could try out HouseCurve. It supports calibrated mics like the UMIK-1, but will also work with just the iPhone mic. You can use it for "the basics" like measuring magnitude, phase, group delay and comparing to target curves. It can also generate filters for your parametric EQ (or convolution), so it can be used for "room correction", etc.

There's a limited free trial here. Full disclosure, I'm the app's author :). I use it to tune my miniDSP 2x4 HD, etc.
@Greg Wilding , I really enjoy using your app for its simplicity. For the last few months, I sometimes get broken lines (gaps) in the green response line. I am using UMIK-1 and the latest iOS. Any idea why this happens?

This is by design, it's called coherence blanking. It indicates that your audio system isn't in control of that region, likely due to noise, resonance, cancellations, etc. Typically you see this in a single measurement - averaging several locations fills in the gaps and provides a more realistic picture of what you hear. You can disable it by going to Plot Setup -> Coherence Blanking, but please, don't try to boost large dips :)

Yep, this next in the roadmap for HouseCurve. I want to add a real time analyzer mode, which will make it possible to do MMM, live tuning, etc.

I have Polks in one one Room and KEFs in another room, a both have this crazy hump in the high end. I’ve asked younger people with better hearing if something is way off, and they say no.

@Greg Wilding
Does your software work on old iPad with iPadOS 15?
On the iPad I can use an iMM-6 while I don't know how to connect the iMM to an iPhone 12.

HouseCurve requires iOS 16.6 or later.
Since I can't find Lightning microphones, can I use a UMIK with USB adapter with an iPhone?
How can I send a test signal to my system?
Are there audio files that need to be played on a PC/Mac connected to the DAC?

that is a nice cat let us see more of the cat

Does anyone know an app for android other than Audiotool that they like? That seems to be the one I keep coming across. I don't like subscriptions or IAP btw, just looking for a nice measurement app.
