once you put them in your room they will have some bass gain
As my measurements in f208 thread show near the wall and corner these are quite in conformity with official specs

I would like to refer to that, but it’s a pretty big thread. Would you be able to link to your post (or tell us the number)?

Btw looking at the spins posted by Kevin Voecks the -3db point for the F208 seems to be closer to 40Hz (sensitivity around 88dB)
So, would this mean anything with respect to the F228Be? After all, the enclosure and bass drivers are roughly the same size as the F208. I note that the only spec Revel shows for the F228 is -6dB at 27Hz. Where might the -3 db fall? Revel shows the -3dB point for the F328 Be to be 35dB.

The F228Be are specced at 90dB sensitivity, so -3dB would be 87dB. Now from the Revel own spin seems that the F208 are around 87dB sensitivity and the F228Be maybe 1dB more but we don't know if the level there equals sensitivity, even if it is very close to Amir's one for the F208.

Anyways based on that Klippel spin I would say that for the F228Be the -3db is around @40Hz and the -6dB around 27Hz, look at the spin I have annotated. Sensitivity aside the F208 and F228Be are pretty much the same below 60Hz.

Thanks! I guess it was too much to expect that a speaker the size of F228/F208 to be -3dB at 27 Hz. Very helpful info!

To replace my Tannoy Rvolution XT 6F, I was going to get a pair of f206 or f208; but it turned out they are not available where I live (Tokyo).
I am now thinking KEF R3, R5, R7, or R11. But it seems Revel F35s are also still available. What is your thought?
