Just seen this. Hilarious.

They go running as soon as they encounter valid scientific critiques fatal to their argument/approach so as to avoid properly addressing them; resort to ad hominem insults and accusations ('People critiquing us must be either delusional or a bad faith actor!); and then go into damage control mode by telling their followers not to read this thread, so they don't discover just how flawed what they're doing really is.

To be fair, this discussion was handled poorly by everyone, not just headphones.com folks. Not defending them at all, I believe they acted emotional and childish. But so did many of ASR long timers. We had a chance for a fruitful and tough discussion that could have progressed the science for everyone's benefit and what is the result instead? Acrimony. There is no need to ridicule and antagonize those guys anymore. Let them try their thing, hopefully they get good results and figure out a way to convince the community they are doing it for the science and not just business.
