Remastering Karajan's Bruckner for Deutsche Grammophon

Why oh why on vinyl? Just plain stupid.
Because the individual that buys this:

wants a worthy plastic disc to play on it :D

Meanwhile, DGG is reissuing a set of digital recordings from 2019 as LPs. The CDs go for about $30, the LPs for about $100:

I imagine there will be a point when the turntables become so enormous you can’t actually reach to cue the record, what an abomination.

You only need a technics to have the best turntable arround within reason. A SL100C (1000€) will already do most, and the SL1200; even mostly known as a dj table, is one of the best turntables arround (not the MK7, but for the rest any version) and can be had new for 1500€ (or less if you search or buy second hand). No need to go above that for better sound. idem with carts, an AT-VM540ML is one of the best arround and costs 250€, and you get 99% of that with the AT-VM95e that costs 50€...

And yes, digital is objective better, but that is not the point...

Right on Waxx! I think it's really funny that the Technics direct drive TT's like the SL110C have better specs than these idiotic audiophool turntables. Notice also that most of the ludicrously overdone examples is that they are mostly belt drive! My old Dunlop System Deck (aka "cake tin") needed a little help to get going as the belt would slip at start-up. How do these stupid things actually get spinning when the platter weighs as much a s bus?? All to play a five dollar plastic disc with limited dynamic range :D
