RCA-splitter / Y-Adapter, do they degrade sound quality?

It's probably not the splitter.

In what way does it degrade the sound?

What happens when you plug in one thing at a time?

Exactly what is plugged-in?

Note that "splitting" is usually OK - One output into multiple inputs.
"Mixing" two outputs into one input is NOT OK. For that, you need a mixer.
from dac to amplifier .

i plan to bi-amping horizontal my audio system . and try using 2 amplifier instead 1 .

should i use mixer ? or should i just use better rca splitter like audioquest maybe ?

sound a bit different than going straight away to rca cable . i prefer the sound from the RCA cable directly without the RCA splitter
I'm going to say that's your imagination. (See my "signature" below.) If you "try" to hear a difference in a non-blind test there's a good chance you will hear a difference.

With something else plugged-in you could have an "impedance issue" and slight degradation.

Straight through it should be perfect, or terrible, or with an intermittent connection you could get crackling, etc., when it's wiggled. The signal is getting-through so that connection is OK, and the ground looks like one-solid block so there's no way the ground should fail.

A DAC into two (or more) amplifiers should be fine.

No. A mixer would allow you to mix the signals from 2 (or more) DACs into one amplifier at the same time. With a home setup you don't normally mix... Usually you switch (with a preamp or receiver) and listen to one source at a time.

i found that cheap rca splitter is downgrade my sound quality.

is there any good rca splitter that won't downgrade sound quality ? or just bit downgrade ?

i buy it around us$ 3 for right and left channel
ive had great satisfaction with mediabridge. well-built and solid. i use them in my biamp setup. if there is any degradation, im certain it's my ears.

I'm interested in a cable solution too that will allow me to split the RCA signal and send one to powered speakers (which would play their full range), send the other to a sub (which I would set low pass filter to bottom of speakers low end). I heard that possibly a splitter like this may degrade / dilute the signal and that I might consider an alternative which essentially boosts the signal of each one. Anyone heard of that?

ive not heard any degradation using splitters, ever, unless the product is faulty. its wire.
