"Premium" USB & Ethernet cables?

TCP protocol corrects any errors with the data transfer! You can copy a file 1,000,000 times and MD5 sum it and it will be the same. If there is a network outage the copy will stop. You'd expect any system to panic at a network outage or retry .

As for HIFI USB cables same thing applies.

USB Isochronous transfer doesn’t guarantee error free transmission

Off topic but I recently purchased a USB cable tester; Treedix USB Tester. There are a quite a few to choose from, but the Treedix seemed to be one of the more comprehensive testers. It is a very handy device to have in the desk draw.

The sad thing is that Stereophile is one of the few publications/organizations that probably has the budget & staff to routinely do blind listening tests with a panel of expert listeners.

I'd give them SOME credibility if they'd do the listening tests "blind" and write-up that part without knowing the manufacturer or price, and before testing.

But that would require a spine, humility, and honesty... :p
One suspects sponsors get good reviews, but that would be cynical
