edit, i think AES/EBU would make more sense as its more immune to noise as S/PDIF ? sorry i am pretty new to this..

Although a bit late reaction, I use the Yellowtec PUC2 lite as an USB to AES/EBU converter, going to my Genelec 8330, with GLM kit and potmeter. There is some more stuff in between, but this "all digital" principle works and is very transparent and fast, giving a very realistic, detailed and musical sound, with a wide soundstage, where you can pinpoint the instruments. This all depends offcourse on the used material, source and the rest of the installation.
