Hey All,

Some phoenix people that are into audio have a meetup the first weekend of every month. We all semi-started with car audio but also very much enjoy home audio. It is a good group that gets into the nitty gritty of audio with how speakers are designed, amp designs, EQ advance work, etc. We are a data driven group with some cool people that also enjoy good food.

I will try to remember to post updates here if anyone is interested, but all info can be found over here: https://www.caraudiojunkies.com/showthread.php?3529-Phoenix-Arizona-Area-Meetups

Also PM for my cell number if you want it to get more details.

P.S. don't tell me you have literally been here the entire time I have.. (Movie Joke)

We talk about speaker builds (I Just built some PE C-notes) and how to use sigma studio with the analog devices dev boards or PE DSPB-K chip or similar device. As well as how to measure speakers with DATS or Klippel and measuring room response with REW, SMAART, etc.

These are all from my C-Note build:

We change it up to try new places to eat. We love good food too. Although we still strongly encourage others to come even if all they want is water!

Well friends, it is that time again, time for another meetup.
Our group is growing. We are consistently getting about 6-8 people to show up every time and just talk audio. A LOT of knowledge from this group, but don’t feel intimidated, all are super welcome! All are also quite helpful too!

We will meet at Los Dos Molinos in west Mesa.
260 S Alma School Rd #137, Mesa, AZ 85210

Saturday February 13th at 11:30am for second-breakfast.

Today is the day! See you all there! If you are new and coming, send me a PM with your cell number and I will text you my number and how to locate the group tonight!

Seriously, even if you don't want food/drinks, come out just for the conversation and company! It is nice hanging around people that are into all types of audio (we talk home, car, garage, UTV, Boat, motorcycle, etc)

May 15th will be the next meetup day for all of our Phoenix Friends! LOTS of cool (sometimes even new!) tech being demonstrated by people in the audio industry!

If you want to talk audio, learn how to use a dsp, just chill with some friends, etc. PLAN ON COMING! We are getting around 8-10 people each meetup that just talk audio and life.

We have even started a small motorcycle group from members of this group! We have been on one ride and doing another this weekend!

This month is going to be a very exciting meetup!
It is happening tomorrow June 5 at 1pm. Please PM me or @Justin Zazzi for location. It is near ASU Tempe Campus.

We are going to be setting up some AB and ABX style listening tests to different DAC's, Speakers, Amps, etc.

A local business, thanks to @Justin Zazzi, with a very nice listening room is allowing us to use their room to do this. Also, would probably interest some people just to tour this place.

We are going to meet up, do some fun tests, then go grab some food.

So far we have some different interfaces like motu m4, mixpre3, macbook pro to provide the signal.
Lepai LP-2020ti amp
Aiyima a07 amp
PE Cnote speakers built by me
Custom built speakers by @Justin Zazzi
Some other, in house and what others have, items too

If @SIY is coming, hopefully he brings some very cool things too! Maybe a purifi amp and some other things.

Great time doing some listening tests and getting a tour of the place.

Many more listening tests to come. If you want in, pm me!

After figuring out how to get everything to work properly we compared a couple amps to each other.
An older Marantz that has had internals replaced vs a crown xls 1502. According to the audio precision device both were nearly identical in their measurements.
I got 10/10 correct, others got 4/10, and one person was just there for a few and got 2/3.

Now that we know how to set stuff up, will be able to test more in the future, then check measurements to see measurable differences. The place has an audio precision tool as well as really good measurement microphone arrays to measure speakers.
