The Onkyo TX-RZ50 and the Pioneer Elite VSX-LX505 receivers are now featuring DIRAC Live. They are priced near each other so I am wondering is there a reason, technical or otherwise to favor one over the other?

Onkyo now owns, designed and builds the Pioneer home audio line, so those two are likely very very similar. Pioneer sold that division off yet retains a small percentage of it. Pioneer does however continue to build and develop their own car audio line, along with their DJ audio stuff.

We've seen technical performance differences between Denon and Marantz. Quite noteable differences.

So can't just assume technical performance will be similar.

Will have to wait for objective measurements.

Does the Pioneer one allow you to set individual crossover points for each set of speakers? Up until very recently, there was only one global crossover possible.
