Neumann KH 750 DSP + KH 310 A review

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I found a review of the Neumann KH 750 DSP + KH 310 A on soundandrecording.de. Looks really good to me, but I just understand the frequency response curves.

Probably not the most optimal solution when it comes to in-room placement of subwoofers... but damn it looks cool.

Interestingly that it uses external DSP to linearize phase in KH310s so Neumann sees benifit in more linear phase.
One then should be able to do so with any convolution if measurements of drivers are known/measured or even measure KH750 if someone has a unit.

Also to match the width of the 310s, The 750 is taller than it is wide.

*edit* The chap ended up rotating the 310's to get the midrange in the middle.

It does look cool. How does this compare to the 420 in terms of max output.

This is the advantage of an AVR. I can configure timing on every speaker individually even with a budget receiver.

As I understand it, all signals go through the sub first, where the DSP is done, and then analog goes to the speaker. So, they should have the same delay.

Why is it an issue? This is the case whenever DSP is applied to a signal.

This time the monitor system delay is unacceptable.
If there is no recording such as TD or listening, I don't care about a little delay. But I can't buy it just for that.

Question: with the app is it possible to obtain a "satisfactory" result?

If you are comfortable with manual EQ you can get a good result. The interface is not awesome, however.

Having done both the iPad app and the automated method using MA1 microphone, I'd say the automated method is worth the money. It takes into consideration the type of monitor you're using as well and is very quick compared to manual EQ. You can manually adjust the curve after the main work is done.

I agree. Especially integrating the sub to the mains is much easier with MA-1.
