Update on fan upgrade. The Noctua NF-R8 is noticeably quieter, however I am considering adding a toggle switch along the front panel to optionally turn fan off/on without needing to remove the cover.

Hello, I just bought one of these used (In the mail) for a great price. I plan to use it to power an outdoor subwoofer or two. Figured it would be good for that.

I was hoping to get some more experiences from others who

1) Disconnected the fan and it's done fine? Or it's caused a hazard?

2) Replaced the fan. If so, which one did you use? Really want no noise.

3) Cut the line to the fan and put in a resister? I read this on an Amazon review. How do you insert the resister? With some kind of clamp or electrical tape? I don't know on this one

Please welcome advice. I will not use it with that fan running in the room all the time so 1-3 is required for me.
