Microphone preamp instead of phono preamp

Following up on the Bluetooth API, an initial version is now up:
https://www.parksaudiollc.com/bluetoothapi.html
From the terms date I guess it went live on 10th August. It has a few gaps to be filled, but most app functions are covered and there's an invitation to email for assistance if needed. I don't really need one, but it's now awfully tempting...

I get seasick, I do not want to be a Bluetooth programmer . Why not just use the app as is?
I got the Puffin by the way, very happy with it.

Parks addressed one reason for releasing the API when they announced the Waxwing:
"Will this be another IoT device that stops working one day when Parks Audio goes out of business or decides to stop support?"
Now someone can write a 3rd party app so the Waxwing keeps working if the app stops working for any reason.

There are other reasons too. Odd as it may seem, some people don't have a smartphone. Some use alternative operating systems with no access to Google Play. Others may want to control it from a computer or something else. If you're happy with the app that's fine. I'm not asking you to be a Bluetooth programmer, but if I get a Waxwing I'll be doing some programming.

But it can also be a bidirectional bt remote control for the Waxwing ;)

Another cheap and easy and very effective way to go is to use a "balanced transmitter" with a 47K input impedance to load the cart and then run balanced to the interface. I use this one https://sound-au.com/project176.htm with the input resistors changed to 47K. I keep the cable from TT to balanced transmitter short and can then run balanced to the MIC interface as far as needed with no worries about hum. For MM I found this worked perfectly, for MC I found I had to turn up the volume on the interface pretty high so for MC I use a SUT in front of the balanced transmitter. This loads cart and SUT perfectly.
