Loxjie A40 all in one amp 2024

Mine A40 HDMI is not usable. Every 20-30seconds HDMI is mutes for a half a second. When i am incresing volume from tv is also muted.
Other digital input Optical have crackle every 10 seconds then input signal is shut. If its ON is quiet. There are no support from the manufacturer i have wrote already 4 messages.
Please when you are givind a feedback test well. I brought this amp just because here opinions were good and wanted digital inputs. It turned out to be complete garbage.
2 thoughts here based upon the successful reviews of Audio Professionals.

1.) You must have gotten a lemon.
2.) Or you have no idea what you're doing.

Based on your description, it sounds more like a compatibility issue. It seems like your TV initially recognizes the A40, but then loses sound, which could indicate a disconnection. What model of TV are you using? Check the settings menu for any options related to HDMI (ARC).
Loxjie A40 is connected to TV Sony 50W805C. I have small kitchen tv but i doubt that have a hdmi ARC.

Tv have 3 audio settings. When PCM audio is chosen muting of the signal is more often. Under default settings is on every 40-60 seconds.

Who has the opportunity, please test the hdmi ARC port to see if the problem is general issue on every device or just mine.

Does anyone happen to know if I can use the pre-outs on my Denon X3700H and run them into the Aux In on the Loxjie A40?

I'm seeing some conflicting stuff online, saying you shouldn't run pre-outs to the line-in on an external amp, rather the "main-in".

I only see Aux-in, and the Loxjie manual doesn't mention anything else. I'm also reading that I need an external amp with "HT bypass" in order to safely use the pre-outs on my AVR.

I have the Loxjie A40 and am currently running the outputs of my DAC into the Aux In on the A40. Works great, and I probably have a much better DAC than the internal one inside the A40.

I certainly know people that have run the output of a Pre-amp into the inputs of another Pre-amp and preferred the sound over either pre-amp alone. I would certainly try it, but I can understand why there may be conflicting advice, as this may be pre-amp dependent. The Loxjie A40 sounds marvelous with the right speakers.

Ah nice, I'm also running a separate SMSL D-6s DAC into my AVR for music streaming (DAC is fed by Wiim Pro). I do feel it sounds better than the DAC in the A40 or even the AVR.

I went for it with the pre-outs on the AVR and seems to be working as intended. I maxed out the volume knob on the A40 and let the AVR control the volume.

The output from the A40 to my Front L/R is louder than the rest of my 5.2 setup, but rather than manually matching the gain with the A40's volume control, I've seen that re-running Audyssey should get everything leveled again. I'm going to take that route.

Do the analog inputs get digitized? I'm wondering if an external DAC might improve sound quality?

Not exactly sure what you mean by "analog inputs 'get digitized'", but the analog inputs are just 'analog'. So, if you connect a source to your external DAC and take the Analog outputs from your external DAC and plug them into the Analog inputs of the Loxjie A40, you can compare the sound against the same source plugged into the Loxjie A40's Digital Inputs. Whether Optical, USB or Coax. And of course the sound quality would depend on your external DAC and your ears..... But I have have done this with my Loxjie A40 and it works! --- But everyone has to be their own judge for their DAC and their ears.

Thanks for the reply. My question is whether the Loxjie has a pure analog path for amplifying analog sources. Some amplifiers pass analog sources through an analog to digital conversion (ADC) process.

Well, post #139 says it does. Not sure how you'd know for sure though.

I have had the A40 since July 3rd. I am impressed with everything about it. I wanted to simplify my office setup. It has done that very well and sounds great with way more power than I need for both speakers and headphones.

It replaced my Schiit Stack (Modius DAC $259, Lokius EQ $344 and Midgard headphone amp $269) and a Fosi ZA3 amp $149.

No issues with the HDMI ARC input. I have 2 PCs running Linux, a Chromebox and a 4K blu-ray playing sending HDMI output to a 4 in, 1 out 4k 60 HDMI kvm switch. HDMI output from the switch is going to a Samsung 32 inch M70B 4k monitor. HDMI ARC from the M70B is going to the ARC input on the A40.

Wiim Pro Plus analog output going to the analog input on the A40.

Coax out from the 4K blu-ray player goes to the coax input on the A40 for listening to CDs.

The headphone amp section has no problem driving the HD800S or HD650.

I also tested bluetooth streaming from my phone to the A40. It sounded good.

I ordered the A40 from Amazon for $255 and it replaced a nice Schiit stack that cost $872 and a $149 Fosi amp.

Very excited to see a complete review of A40 with some measurable THD under real conditions. Have I missed it anywhere?

I haven't seen one on here. There is a review of the A30:

I have owned one for a few months and I really like it..... It's cheap enough to just buy one on Amazon for around $250 and try it out yourself. Delivery is next day in my area. If you don't care for it return it for a refund. That is how I bought mine. That is better than any review that you could possibly read.

I'm not able to return it easily to Amazon in Australia, as it ships from either China or the states. However, could someone tell me:
1. Is there any startup lag on Windows when a sound plays after a period of silence?
2. Is the headphone port weak/noisy or does it seems good?

Thanks!

I don't use Windows anymore so can't answer 1.

The headphone port works great. It has no trouble driving the HD800S or HD650 and has way more than enough power.

There are at least a couple of reviewers I trust more than my own ears :) and reading a few reviews is less than 250 USD.

Having said that, I must admit I am tempted buy one to find out what these chip amps are capable of.

I am a Linux user in case that matters.
