Loxjie A40 all in one amp 2024

Had to replace a fine sounding Aiyima A70, but the volume pot developed scatching after barely three months of use. So I decided to try the Loxije A40. I like it, everything in one small package, use it via USB Macbook Pro M1 and Wiim Mini via Toslink. I just tested using my SMSL SU-1 DAC, I like it better than the integrated one. They are similar chips, but somehow the sound is better when using SMSL SU-1 via Aux into the A40. With the internal DAC the highs are a bit to much, but that's subjective of course. A fine device so far

What is nice about the internal DAC, it works out of the box with my Mac, though it's got no volume control. The SU-1 has slight pops when changing sampling rates, and the windows driver for changing the standby does not exist for Mac.

I am using the Loxije A40 for my Computer desk nearfield setup. It is driving Magnat Quantum 603 speakers. It is not my main setup. My main setup consists of Wharfedale Diamond 12.4 Floorstanders driven by Fosi V3 Monos which are fed by a Wiim Pro Plus.

Did you try cleaning the Volume pot with some electrical contact Spray cleaner? - Common problem, especially if the unit is kept in a dirty environment.

I tried that, but my office is not exactly dirty, just a little full of stuff Seems it was just a bad pot. This should not happen to a device just three months old...

Anyway, I ordered Wharfedale Diamond 12.2s for my desktop setup. They are not as bright as the Magnat Quantum 603s, so I am using the internal DAC of the A40 again. Seems like a very good combination I like the sound of my Diamond 12.4s in the living room very much, so getting the 12.2s promised to be just as great for a smaller room. And yes, they are great in my opinion

Regarding the issue of the delay when connecting via usb.. there are two drivers from loxjie-audio (looks the same driver but updated):

Which one have you installed? does it matter which one you install?

Hello everyone! I've been using the A40 for 3 weeks with the wharfedale evo 4.2. I like the sound of this ligament. There's plenty of volume to spare. I compared it to the sound of an inexpensive AV amplifier of class (premiera a1 - $400). A40 plays hard, livelier. Vocals, guitars, cellos, everything has a more impressive volume. And in general, there is a feature that also manifests itself on the output of headphones. The lower register of all sounds is more highlighted than on other devices. But the bass is pretty clear and fast. I'd like to know from the owners - who noticed this? Overall, I like everything except that hdmi doesn't support cec. This is the only drawback because I took the A40 to voice TV.

Hello, just got mine, plugged în TV and Sonos Connect 2, using it with Dali Spektor 2. Still have some questions as user manual is a joke:
1. Do you use the EQ, if so, could you share some settings?
2. With a Teac turntable, do you recommend phono or using it as an amplified turntable (it has a switch, phono on off)?
3. Can I set subwoofer crossover? (I also have a Yamaha subwoofer from a surround system)
4. I have a Wiim mini and a Sonos connect 2, would wiim mini over optical outperform Sonos connect over RCA? Only tested with the Sonos (I don't find my optical cable)

Had mine for a few months now. Generally impressed but cannot get my Panasonic ub420 4K blu ray player to output sound via HDMI into the A40 HDMI input. The display states 'ARC no connected'. The Panny can output sound via Optical to Optical in on the A40 but for the life of me I don't understand why the HDMI's not working. Any thoughts or suggestions, it's probably user error more than anything. I have noticed that the optical output on the Panny seems to be constantly 'active' i.e. the red 'laser' light is visible the moment the player is switched on so I'm wondering if it's a fault there which overrides the 'send audio via HDMI only function .

1 - I've been using 'direct' as, like the loxjie A30 I had before it, that's seems to give the best balance of sound. Then just tweak the Bass / Treble if required. Hope that helps. FYI I see you have the Wiim Mini so I don't think it has in-built room correction (yet?) but I did find that feature on the Wiim Pro really helped compensate for 'sub-optimal' speaker position and lack of any 'room treatment' in my front room.

I dialled the bass down a few increments initially. A40 is connected to Wharfedale Evo 4.1's which are side ported and there was too much 'boominess' at first. The Wiim Pro room correction balanced things out considerably but obviously that only applies to music sources that it is outputting. I am considering adding a single BK Gemini II Subwoofer at some point, using the A40 sub out. I am hoping to somehow achieve a crossover set-up where the sub handles more of the lower bass so that the Evo's handle the mid and treble.
